The history of Flamant goes back to over 30 years ago as it started out as the family company of the three Flamant brothers, Alex, Geo and Jacques who expanded their father’s antique shop. The original idea behind Flamant was based on the reinterpretation of antique furniture and decorative objects, with care for a perfect blend between past and present. This concept constitutes the leitmotif in all Flamant collections ever since and has been the base for the brand’s international development. The business grew fast and Flamant opened its Antwerp shop in 1992. A refreshing presentation of refined antiqued pieces in a warm and atmospheric shop recreating the feeling of home was a well-received concept and shops in Ghent, Brussels and other cities soon followed. In 1997 a superb showroom for professional customers was installed in the headquarters in Geraardsbergen, Belgium, presenting Flamant’s pieces in that same authentic and cordial setting that was celebrated in its stores. Today this showroom is thoroughly expanded with elaborate decors showcasing different themes. The word on the Belgian interior company spread fast as it went on to be one of the first exhibitors at Paris’ influential Maison et Objet design fair, where ever since Flamant installs a prominent stand. A shop in Paris’ Saint-Germain-des-Prés opened in 2000, while stores in Italy, Germany and partnerships from Moscow to Tokyo underline the international recognition of Flamant’s refined take on interior. Nowadays Flamant is a flourishing international brand that with about 300 employees gathers an experienced team of professionals ensuring innovation and development and a growing international presence. In the search for a complete and complementary design story, paint and wallpaper became important additions to the collections that now encompass home furnishing and lifestyle products ranging from interior accessories and furniture to custom-made solutions. Also Flamant Projects was established, engaging in projects where Flamant delivers the entire interior of hotels, restaurants and private homes throughout Europe for a tailored Flamant aesthetic.
